     Commentary for August 26, 2008 ------
     This was a choppy, sideways, trendless morning and the trade results were truly amazing considering this was a nothing day for trading. Every trade was profitable with the exception of the one break-even trade on the S&P 500 contract. The Russell 2000 total of +6 points is $600 per contract, The NASDAQ 100 total of +11 points is $220 per contract, and the S&P 500 total of +9 points is $450 per contract. Not too bad for 3 hours trading on a poor trading day, is it?

     Another choppy, trendless morning and the low volume combined with range bound trading is expected to persist until we get past Labor Day. Even so, we still had a profitable morning, The Russell 2000 total of +8.2 points is $820 gross per contract, The NASDAQ 100 total of +14 points is $280 per contract, and the S&P 500 total of +8.5 points is $425 per contract.

     Commentary for August 28, 2008 -------
     Today could be described best as "interesting" which is the same word used by anyone tasting an unfamiliar food that doesn't agree with them. As choppy and sideways as it was, today could have been a real disaster. The hurricanes and the rapid ups and downs in the oil market combined with the low volume day gave us a bad time, but not as bad as it seemed at the time. So it was just a minor disaster. Almost a break-even but a little below. The Russell 2000 total of -1.1 points was a $110 loss, The NASDAQ 100 total of -8 points was a loss of $160, and the S&P 500 total of -1.5 points was a loss of $75. Minor damage. We'll survive. Tomorrow is another day.

     Trading is a lot of fun and making money at trading is really a lot of fun. We are back in the groove today even with the market's low volume and mostly sideways movement.The Russell 2000 net total of +6.9 points was a $690 win, The NASDAQ 100 net total of +11 points was a win of $220, and the S&P 500 net total of +8 points was a win of $400. After Labor Day we will see the volume increase and a return to those hour & longer movements that have made so much money in previous days.

     Commentary for September 2, 2008 -------
     Breaking even is always better than losing money but certainly our goal is to make money during our three hour morning period. Today we had the mindset that with the drop in the oil futures combined with the light hurricane damage and volume returning to the market we would have a strong bull market today. This was totally wrong and it was a sideways/down market this morning. Mechanical problems are always a challenge and the TradeStation platform froze up just after 10 o'clock. Watching the oil prices zig zag up and down provided no insight into market direction and proved to be a very unreliable indicator. With all these problems we actually came out far better than expected. The Russell 2000 total of -0.5 points was a $50 loss, The NASDAQ 100 total of -0.5 points was a loss of only $10, and the S&P 500 total of +0.75 points was a win of $37.50. No big deal. Tomorrow is another day.

     Great day! A combination of events made all the difference today. We still experienced more than enough horizontal trendless lack of movement. The few trading opportunities we did have generated the excellent returns we had today.The Russell 2000 total of +15.1 points was a $1,510 win! The NASDAQ 100 total of +23.25 points was a win of $465.00 and the S&P 500 total of +14.25 points was a win of $712.50.      Commentary for September 4, 2008 -----
     The bear market is back with the Dow falling 344.65 points today. Fortunately, for us Emini traders it doesn't matter -- we make money if the market goes up or down. Today we did and the best trade was -- you guessed it -- on the short side.The Russell 2000 total of +10.7 points was a $1,070 win for every contract traded! The NASDAQ 100 total of +21.50 points was a win of $430.00 per single contract and the S&P 500 total of +11.50 points was a win of $575.00. The trading volume has been increasing and the movements are remaining in pattern for more minutes. This is very good for us as the longer we can stay in a trade, the more we earn. Don't forget, we are 'all cash' at the end of every trading day.
     Another thing, remember -- this is only a 3 hour period you see reported here. A part time job, if you will. Most traders are actively trading all day, not just mornings. The future is bright. Join us if you haven't already.

     The truth about Fridays is that you have a lot of factors that will cause volatile & choppy movement -- funds rebalancing their portfolios, options expirations, etc. All you can do is be quick about your trades and take your profits when you can. You may not make a fortune on a Friday, but you can still make money. We did. The Russell 2000 total of +3.1 points was a $310.00 win for each contract. The NASDAQ 100 total of +8.25 points was a win of $165.00 per single contract and the S&P 500 total of +4.00 points was a win of $200.00.

      Mixed results. A choppy day, trendless and erratic, along with the Fannie/Freddy takeover news got us off on the wrong foot from the first trade and there seemed to be no chance for getting back in sync. The Russell 2000 net total of -3.5 points was a $350.00 loss. The NASDAQ 100 total of +2.50 points was a win of $50.00 and the S&P 500 total of -2.00 points was a loss of $100.00. Not every day will be a great winner, or even a winner at all, but trading as a business is averaged over the long term. Over the long term, we are profitable. End of story.

      Back on track with a better trading day and winning trades. The Russell 2000 net total of +11.2 points gave us a $1,120.00 win per contract. The NASDAQ 100 total of +8.25 points was a win of $165.00 and the S&P 500 total of +9.00 points was a win of $450.00. The market had many sideways periods and occasionally became choppy and unpredictable. Even so, the opportunities were there and we had another great day.

      Only three trades today due to software changes made during trading and a sideways market that seemed to have no energy at all. We take it all in stride, don't cry about it, .......... & still make money.

     Commentary for September 12, 2008 -----
     Combination of events all came together to make this one of the most difficult and least rewarding trading days ever -- and not just for us, but for traders everywhere. The volatility was only broken up by the most horizontal movement we have seen and getting into a decent trade was impossible. Today was the day to switch to the December contract and the new Russell 2000 contract is now being traded on the ICE exchange.
      No trades for the Russell 2000. The S&P 500 net of +4.75 points was a win of $237.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of -0.50 points was a loss of only $10.00 so no big deal. We will enjoy our weekend and come back refreshed and ready for a new week.

     The Lehman Brothers bankruptcy and the takeover of Merrill Lynch by Bank of America made today a volatile and choppy market to trade. Using careful trading techniques and taking profits often we ended this morning with all trades profitable for all three Emini contracts.

     Quadruple witching day combined with a huge gap up opening gave us a special set of challenges. Ya gotta love Fridays! Wanted to stay with longer trades but the choppy market wouldn't give us any peace. We wound up good for the day and finished a really great week.

     Commentary for September 25, 2008 -----
     This morning the charting service had a data feed problem and this resulted in our missing trades and having to exit profitable trades prematurely. Just imagine driving down the freeway with a blindfold on and you will understand what it is like to be in a trade with inaccurate data. We missed the good trades and had to exit others before we had a chance to profit. When the problems with the platform were finally corrected, the market was in a choppy range bound pattern that offered little opportunity. Regardless of all that, we have still posted all the trades here exactly as always -- even though some were out of our control.
      The Russell 2000 total of +2.2 points was a $220.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +9.50 points was a win of $475.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +4.00 points was a win of $80.00 per contract.
     The five bad things that can happen to a trader are: 1) data feed goes down, 2) electricity goes off, 3) internet service goes down, 4) broker connection fails, 5) your computer freezes/fails/explodes. This is why you need a broker that can take a close-your-trade order over the telephone and you need a cell phone in case your land-line is down.

     Commentary for September 26, 2008 -----
     The WaMu bank failure and the stalled government bailout plan weighed heavily on the market today. We have had the good, and yesterday we got the bad, so here is the ugly. Clint Eastwood would be proud. When the whipsaw is alive and well you get a little movement in the direction of your trade followed immediately by a lot of movement in the opposite direction causing you to bail out. There just is no defense against a sideways market and even the conservative traders like us can't make a dime in this market.
      The Russell 2000 total of -2.9 points was a $290.00 loss. The S&P 500 net of -6.00 points was a loss of $300.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of -1.75 points was a loss of $35.00 per contract.

     What a day! Banks failing, congress dithering around, commodity and real estate values falling -- what's next? Here is what we know: "Buy and Hold" does not work anymore. If you want to make money in the market, go long when it is going up and go short when it is going down and be all cash at the end of the day. Got it?
      The Russell 2000 total of +14.7 points was a $1,470.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +29.75 points was a profit of $1,487.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +50.75 points was a profit of $1,015.00 per contract.
     There are always some people who make money when everyone else is unemployed.      Very sideways and therefore very difficult. This is the kind of market where the changes in direction come just minutes after your entry and you have to bail out immediately.
      The Russell 2000 total of +3.0 points was a $300.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +4.25 points was a profit of $212.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +8.25 points was a profit of $165.00 per contract.
     One goal we have is to make fewer and longer term trades. Of course, we have to trade the market we get, but that is the goal.

     Commentary for October 2, 2008 -----
     This morning we were able to capture over $500 per contract on a single trade in the Russell 2000 and that was one out of only two trades in the R2K. Avoiding losses is even more important than making profits (when you lose all your marbles you are out of the game -- remember the schoolyard?) Avoiding losing trades by not trading when the market is choppy and sideways is what we do -- and today we had an hour of sitting out this type of market. Conservative trading is entering trades late, usually exiting early, and avoiding unfavorable trading conditions altogether. There is nothing wrong with taking profits and avoiding losses and don't believe anyone who says that isn't true.
      The Russell 2000 total of +6.9 points was a $690.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +18.25 points was a profit of $912.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +24.75 points was a profit of $495.00 per contract.

     We had four good trading days this week and one choppy, difficult day -- which was today! Doesn't matter, we had a great week and we're O.K. This afternoon the $700 billion bail out bill, which grew to over $800 billion, was passed by the House and signed into law. With every rumor the market was spiking in one direction or the other.
      The Russell 2000 total of +3.1 points was a $310.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +12.75 points was a profit of $637.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +15.00 points was a profit of $300.00 per contract.
     Take a look at the week we just had and you can see why we're smiling. We end our session at noon if there is no active position so perhaps it isn't fair to call this a 3 hour job. More like a 2 1/2 hour job.

     The DOW fell 800 points today and then recovered to a loss in the minus mid-300's. These are exciting times and really painful for anyone that is depending on stocks to act as a hedge against inflation. It certainly isn't inflation that you need to worry about, it is a grizzley bear market. Of course, we Emini traders are all cash at the end of every day.
      The Russell 2000 total of +16.8 points was a $1,680.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +28.25 points was a profit of $1,412.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +41.75 points was a profit of $835.00 per contract.

     Today we saw the fear and confusion that has gripped the financial markets push the indexes deep into negative territory. The choppy short movements were very difficult to trade. We did the best we could and came out OK.
      The Russell 2000 total of +13.8 points was a $1,350.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +2.50 points was a profit of $125.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +11.00 points was a profit of $220.00 per contract.

     Commentary for October 9, 2008 -----
     One year ago today the Dow was at it's highest level ever and today we saw a 678 point drop making this the 7th straight trading day of losses. Holding stocks and hoping they will go up in a bear market is folly best left to professional fund managers who still get fat paychecks as their victims/clients suffer. We had a good day.
      The Russell 2000 total of +25.6 points was a $2,560.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +40.25 points was a profit of $2,012.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +67.50 points was a profit of $1,350.00 per contract.

     Commentary for October 10, 2008 -----
     Starting off in the pre-market with a 700 point drop in the Dow, racing back up to positive territory, dropping again to minus 500, back up to positive 200 and then down to finish at minus 128 -- what a roller coaster! Zero to hero and back 3 times -- the action was so swift and so sudden it was hard to keep up with -- but we did.
      The Russell 2000 total of +16.5 points was a $1,650.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +27.00 points was a profit of $1,350.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +52.75 points was a profit of $1,055.00 per contract.
      Today was the 8th down day for the markets and the talking heads were on TV calling a bottom. Just as they had two weeks ago, two weeks before that, and two weeks before that. Right! This week was our best week ever and our goal is to beat this record and set a new record each week. Stay tuned!

     Friday the 13th came on a Monday this week. From the opening bell with a 400 point gap up, and an entire morning of choppy sideways moves, we had a difficult time to rack up the usual profits. At least we ended on a positive note!

     This morning was another day of sideways activity with occasional bursts of counter-trend movements. When we had to wait out the lack of trading opportunities, we used the time to discuss our trading philosophy and techniques.
      The Russell 2000 total of +13.1 points was a $1,310.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +19.50 points was a profit of $975.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +35 points was a profit of $700.00 per contract.
      What is amazing is that we achieved these results with our data feed freezing up twice and requiring a reboot both times. We never let this stuff detract us from our purpose.

     Today the Dow fell another 733 points and none of the fund managers were on the tube talking about the bargain stocks they were buying. The financial geniuses that called a market bottom on Monday were nowhere to be found either. What happened to these folks? They were too busy dumping those bargain stocks so they can pay back clients who are wondering how these highly paid fund managers lost 30% to 40% of the client's hard earned money???
      The Russell 2000 total of +13.9 points was a $1,390.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +19.50 points was a profit of $975.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +30.50 points was a profit of $610.00 per contract.
      We had a long period of sideways choppy activity and the only thing we could do was to wait it out. It didn't matter -- we did fine anyway.

     This morning we had some great trades and some "nothing" trades as we were whipsawed back and forth by a choppy market. Sometimes it is really hard to tell if the sideways movement has ended and the time to enter a trade has arrived. You may think you know when that is, but the truth is, no one ever really knows for sure!
      The Russell 2000 total of +23.6 points was a $2,360.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +44.75 points was a profit of $2,237.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +71.75 points was a profit of $1,435.00 per contract.

     Another Friday (options expirations day) but oddly it was very calm and quiet in the markets. Too calm with very slow action and no energy. We had a few good trades that continued in the same direction for more than a few minutes and we did very well with them. TGIF!

     Today we added an afternoon session for the final trading hour of the day and was that ever a great idea! The market tanked with the Dow winding up down over 500 points and we rode it down the whole way.
      The Russell 2000 total of +25.0 points was a $2,500.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +39.75 points was a profit of $1,987.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +57.25 points was a profit of $1,145.00 per contract.
      We will be adding the afternoon trading session Monday through Thursday.

     This was exciting -- before the market opened it's regular session the futures market was limit down. Other than that the trading progressed normally for a Friday.
      The Russell 2000 total of +14.1 points was a $1,410.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +24.50 points was a profit of $1,225.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +52.75 points was a profit of $1,055.00 per contract.
      Fridays are typically choppy and erratic due to options expirations and other factors. This will be the last Friday session we will do. Instead we are adding the four afternoon sessions Monday through Thursday which have far better returns.

     The market was choppy and difficult with spikes in both directions. The Federal Reserve released the change in interest rate information with the minutes of their meeting this afternoon. With all that, we are back on track!

     We have changed the indicator program to remain in trades longer and there are still some final adjustments to be made. The important factor is that this makes it so much more practical for the members to follow the signals posted.
      The Russell 2000 total of +3.5 points was a $350.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +23.75 points was a profit of $1,187.50 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +28.25 points was a profit of $565.00 per contract.
      We expect that the results will continue to improve with the new protocol.

     Commentary for November 24, 2008 -----
     This morning one of the members brought to our attention that the real time trade numbers we had were different from his and when we matched them to our backup platform we found that to be true. We had to shut everything down and immediately scan for a virus/spyware infection. We found over 340 trojans active on our system and spent the next four hours cleaning them off our machines. We only had time for three trades but we did just fine.
      The Russell 2000 total of +22.6 points was a $2,260.00 win per contract. The S&P 500 net of +35.00 points was a profit of $1,750.00 and the NASDAQ 100 total of +40.50 points was a profit of $810.00 per contract.
